Most people use AI the way they use Google: ask a question, get an answer, move on.

That’s fine for trivia. It’s useless for strategy.

When decisions involve money, risk, reputation, or long-term consequences, what matters isn’t speed, it’s judgment. Historically, that judgment didn’t come from a single brilliant mind. It came from boards, advisors, partners, and trusted dissenters. The best leaders didn’t optimize for consensus; they optimized for productive friction.

So instead of asking ChatGPT to “tell me what to do,” I built a boardroom inside it.

Not personalities. Perspectives.

The Problem With Single-Voice AI

A single AI response—even a good one—has the same failure mode as a single human advisor. It has blind spots. It over-indexes on coherence. It often stops at first-order effects and presents elegant explanations that collapse under real-world pressure.

Most failures don’t come from lack of intelligence. They come from unexamined assumptions.

Boards exist to surface those assumptions.

The Boardroom Model

Inside ChatGPT, I deliberately invoke competing reasoning frameworks before making decisions. Each one plays the role a real advisor would play in an actual board meeting.

Some focus relentlessly on downside risk and survival.

Some are obsessed with incentives and second-order consequences.

Some look for structural leverage and asymmetric upside.

Some ignore the narrative entirely and ask what’s actually happening at first principles.

The goal isn’t agreement. The goal is stress testing.

When these perspectives converge, confidence is earned. When they don’t, that’s the signal to slow down.

Why This Works

This approach does three things most AI usage does not.

First, it forces inversion. Instead of asking “How do I succeed?” it asks “How could this fail?” before anything else.

Second, it exposes second- and third-order effects. Many AI answers stop at the obvious. Boards don’t.

Third, and most importantly, it keeps agency with the human. AI advises. I decide.

The moment you outsource agency, you’re no longer using AI, you’re being managed by it.

Selective Wisdom Beats Total Adoption

I don’t have the time, or the need, o read every new book, manifesto, or thought leader that cycles through business and technology. What I do have is a clear sense of whose judgment I respect, and why.

Experience teaches you that wisdom is unevenly distributed. Some people are exceptional at street-level realism but unreliable on ethics. Others have strong moral frameworks but weak instincts for power and incentives. Some see risk with brutal clarity. Others see upside everyone else misses.

No single person gets all of it right.

The mistake is treating advisors as whole packages instead of extractable perspectives.

In a real boardroom, you don’t ask one director to opine on everything. You lean on people for what they’re good at and discount them where they’re weak. You take street smarts without importing recklessness. You take moral clarity without importing fragility. You take vision without swallowing mythology.

AI makes that selective extraction explicit.

I can assemble a board that reflects how I actually think: grounded, skeptical, opportunistic, and accountable. I can block moralizing where it clouds judgment, and inject ethical constraints where incentives would otherwise run wild. I can tune the board to my risk tolerance, my time horizon, and my operating environment.

That’s the point.

AI as an Advisory Multiplier, Not a Replacement

This isn’t about simulating famous people or playing games with prompts. It’s about codifying hard-earned wisdom and making it available consistently, without ego, politics, or fatigue.

Think of it as a standing investment committee.

A risk council.

A red-team and blue-team in constant dialogue.

A decision journal that talks back.

Used correctly, AI doesn’t make decisions easier. It makes them clearer.

Who This Is For

This approach isn’t for people looking for shortcuts, validation, or certainty.

It is for founders, operators, and executives. People responsible for outcomes, not opinions.

If you’re accountable for consequences, you need more than answers. You need structured disagreement.

The Real Lesson

The real power of AI isn’t that it’s smart.

It’s that it can hold multiple worldviews in tension at the same time.

In the past, only people with real power could do this. They had access to diverse advisors and the confidence to weigh them properly. Today, the tooling exists to do it deliberately.

You still have to choose your board.

You still have to decide who you listen to.

And you still have to live with the consequences.

AI just removes the friction. And the excuses.
